Nigerian youngster Jordan Ibe has committed his future to Liverpool as he inked a long-term deal that will see him remaining at Anfield till 2020.
According to Liverpool Echo, the contract is reward for the 19-year-old forward’s impressive development, with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers confident Ibe can become a significant player for the club in the coming years.
Ibe hit the limelight with some sterling performances with Derby County in the first half of the season where he played on loan, scoring five times, with an assist in 20 league appearances.
He has earned the praise of captain Steven Gerrard who crowned him man of the match against Everton in February and manager Brendan Rodgers who tagged him “sensational.”
Ibe is a player of significant potential, and 2015/16 could well be his breakout year for Liverpool.
